Color Manila holds biggest concept fun run outside Metro Manila

Color Manila has done it again, proving that concept fun runs will never go out of style. Around 6,000 participants joined CM Blacklight Run in Clark, Pampanga on December 3, 2016, making it the biggest event so far that the fun-run organizer has staged outside Metro Manila.

Participants trooped to the Clark Parade Grounds for the third Color Manila event held in Pampanga. They had conquered 3K, 5K, and 10K finishes during the entire length of the day-long activity. Runners also had fun being covered by neon colored powder (which glows in the dark) all over, a traditional mark unique to every CM Blacklight Run (hence the event name).

“We had two other events brought to Clark this year, the last was CM Blacklight as well, and because of the partnership we have with the Clark Development Corporation, we have been able to grow our number of participants from 3,000 to 6,000 in just a span of three months,” said Color Manila Vice President Justine Cordero. “The run has become a much-anticipated event for runners and first-time runners alike,” she added.

Most of the participants came from Pampanga, while others were from Manila and nearby provinces like La Union, Baguio, Tarlac, Bulacan, and Pangasinan. Interestingly, some foreigners from Indonesia and the US flew in just to enjoy the fun run.

Resident DJ Marxx Monterola with MC Dino provided entertainment after the run. Color Manila’s next Blacklight event is all set in Dagupan City, Pangasinan on December 10, 2016, and will be the fun run’s last event for this year.

Meanwhile, Color Manila will start 2017 with a bang through a special Blacklight event on January 8, 2017 at the Mall of Asia Grounds in Pasay City. It will mark the organization’s Year 5. Up to 12,000 participants are expected to join the activity. It also recently revealed plans to bring its CM Blacklight Run to the US and the United Arab Emirates soon.
