alcatel rebrands; launches three new gadgets

alcatel as a brand is once again undergoing significant changes, and this is something that surely excites us, the consumers. After unveiling its now logo, the smartphone manufacturer (a wholly owned subsidiary of Hong Kong-based electronics maker TCL Corporation) has announced that it is shifting its focus to mid- to high-end mobile device market segment.

And this it does in a booming style! “The new brand will increase its engagement with a new target market—the millennials,” said alcatel Regional Director for Asia Pacific and Country Manager for the Philippines Liza Woods. “Now it seeks to continue delivering customized user experiences with innovative, feature-rich, high-performance mobile devices that allow consumers to do more, create more, and enjoy more moments of joy every day.”

alcatel has formally launched three new gadgets with the obvious goal to wow the market. During the grand launch of the products, the brand emphasized that the new mobile devices will not only take advantage of the dynamic and aggressive local market but also provide exceptional and enjoyable consumer experience.

New flagship smartphone
While alcatel has confirmed that it is officially not involved with OneTouch (formerly Alcatel OneTouch) anymore, it proudly announced its new flagship smartphone, IDOL 4S, which comes with a virtual reality (VR) headset. Of course, it showcases modern design and innovative features.

First, the new smartphone introduces its unique Boom Key, which levels up functions like taking of photos and videos, listening to music, and playing games. IDOL 4S is also augmenting the users’ multimedia experience: with a large screen that facilitates great views from different angles, powerhouse audio, and a top-of-the-line camera with dual flash.

For users who love taking photos, the new smartphone has a 16-megapixel and 8-megapixel rear- and front-facing cameras. It even comes with a 2K AMOLED screen display equipped with a 3000mAh quick-charging battery, which can literally last an entire day.

Plus, the innovative packaging design instantly transforms into a pair of VR goggles to facilitate a virtual reality experience anytime. This also gives way to the immersive 360-degree viewing and gaming pleasure.

Optimized-alca watch

Smart watch for kids
MOVE TIME TRACK & TALK watch is a special device for children aged 5 to 9 years old. The 2G smart watch enables parents to call their children or even send voice messages. As it has a simple user interface, children can easily take calls from up to 10 pre-set contacts and even make calls to 5 registered phone numbers.

Through its GPS, GSM, and Wi-Fi connectivity, the watch can possibly identify location of children within as fast as a minute. The watch is compatible with iOS7 (and newer Apple operating systems) and Android 4.3 (and newer OS). To top those all, it comes with a battery that can last on standby for as long as four days.

Windows 10 tablet and laptop in one
Are you looking for a perfect travel companion with longer battery life? alcatel’s PLUS 10 Windows tablet also functions as a laptop when it is docked into a special 4G LTE keyboard, which has its own battery and can even serve as a Wi-Fi hotspot. This way, the device can be an ideal tool for typing long documents, creating spreadsheets, or displaying presentation slides. It can even be connected to a hard drive, a mouse, a USB key, or a secondary screen.

“PLUS 10 goes everywhere I go—the house, the office, even the park,” said alcatel Smart Connectivity General Manager Vittorio Di Mauro. “We’re very proud of all the functionality we’ve built into it.”

These newest range of mobile devices from alcatel are now available in the market.
